The Can Ruti Campus and the healthcare and research teams of the different institutions that comprise it continue to prove, once again this year, to be a relevant node on a global scale in terms of scientific production and progress.
Around 200 students from secondary schools in Badalona have visited different centres on the Can Ruti Campus this morning, taking part in one of the main events of the 28th edition of Science Week in Badalona. The Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP) has organised the event together with the Germans Trias Hospital.
The 14th Research Conference of the ICS focused on the transformative potential of research in the health system and awarded prizes to eight researchers. Antoni Bayés and Alejandro Bustamante, who work at the Hospital and researchers at IGTP, were awarded a prize for the best hospital scientific career and ICS young researcher, respectively.
The funds raised in the 2022 edition of La Marató de 3Cat will enable 71 research teams to conduct 37 projects in cardiovascular health to advance in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases that represent the leading cause of death in developed countries. One of the awarded projects involves the participation of researchers from the GCAT of the IGTP, and is coordinated by Dr Camille Lassale from ISGlobal.
The podcast from the Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP) launches a new episode titled "Stroke: a race against the clock"). Researcher and clinician Mònica Millán explains what everyone should know about this pathology, as well as the research her group is conducting to improve the lives of patients.
On 23 October, the "Translational research and innovation through EATRIS" workshop was held at IGTP. The purpose of this event was to discuss the advances and perspectives of EATRIS both in Spain and in Europe, highlighting the research and innovation activity of the IGTP.
To mark World Hepatitis Day, the podcast 'Un Bri de Ciència' dedicates an episode to viral hepatitis, specifically focusing on Hepatitis B and C, which are considered to be the most severe types. Researcher Elisa Martró unravels what we know about these diseases and discusses her projects, both in the hospital setting and in communities, working with vulnerable populations. The podcast enhances the mission of awareness and dissemination of IGTP.
The certification body AENOR has accredited the Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP) for successfully implementing a research, development, and innovation (R&D&I) management system in accordance with the UNE 166002:2021 Standard. This certification is a guarantee of good practices, and confirms that the implementated R&D&I management system meets the statutory requirements.
The Biostatistics Unit is made up by a team of statisticians and mathematicians who conduct and support biomedical research primarily at the Can Ruti Campus, and also in collaboration with other public or private organizations. The Unit has recently been introduced to the technologies and services provided by the Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP).
