TESTA'T Jove-iCONNECTA project, a leading initiative in public health and funded by La Marató de TV3 that seeks to improve the diagnosis, prevention and access to the treatment of sexually transmitted infections (STI) and HIV among young people in Catalonia.
The innovation units and researchers of the Innomed program gathered at IGTP to launch the second edition of the GrowInn project incubator. The meeting provided an opportunity to share experiences from the first edition and define the new challenges and objectives for this year.
The IGTP Actively participated in Mobile World Congress 2025 (MWC25) and the 4 Years From Now (4YFN) platform, contributing its expertise in artificial intelligence, clinical data, genomics, and digital health innovation. Researchers and projects from the institute played a key role in several sessions and discussions, as well as in showcasing emerging biomedical technologies.
An open-door psychiatry project from (HUGTiP, IGTP and Qualud has led to the creation of RutiSafeNet, an innovative risk monitoring tool for patients with acute mental disorders. This solution enables nursing staff to visualise and analyse data in real time, facilitating quick and well-informed decisions to enhance safety.
The event, organised by the Ophthalmology Department of HUGTiP and IGTP, with the support of Societat Catalana d'Oftalmologia, featured various presentations and panel discussions with ophthalmologists and innovation experts, who shared their experiences and highlighted the importance of pioneering initiatives in eye health.
IGTP held a matchmaking event with the Leitat Technology Centre at the D-Factory facilities in the Zona Franca of Barcelona, as part of the Innomed programme. The aim was to showcase first-hand some of the most innovative research lines in the biomedical field and explore potential collaboration opportunities with the technology centre.
The Instituto de Investigación Sanitaria IGTP has secured a total of €6,518,867 for various research projects and researcher contracts within the Acción Estratégica en Salud 2024 calls.
IGTP has been awarded two grants in the proves de validació (validation testing) call for the 2024-2026 period. One focused on the diagnosis of dementia with Lewy bodies and the other on the treatment of a stroke.

It aims to leverage the synergies between the three entities to create a solid collaboration network that facilitates the exchange of knowledge and technology, streamlines the use of available resources, develops innovation projects, accelerates the validation of technological solutions and promotes joint research and training activities.
