The new episode of the podcast 'Un bri de ciència' is presented under the title "La diabetis tipus 1: quan la defensa t'ataca" (Type 1 diabetes: when your defences attack you). Researcher Marta Vives Pi explains the problems of autoimmune diseases, with an emphasis on type 1 diabetes.
In the first episode, "La tuberculosi: la pandèmia dels pobres" (Tuberculosis: the pandemic of the poor), researcher José Domínguez explains the basics of the disease and the current situation of research. This podcast is a way for the centre to reach a wide audience, thanks to a short and dynamic storytelling format.
The Clinical and Environmental Infectious Diseases Research Group (CEID) has discovered a molecule of natural origin with a high bactericidal, amoebicidal and biofilm reduction capacity. The collaboration signed by the group's researchers with a private company will finance the improvement of the molecule's characteristics to be applied in large water installations, preventing water for human consumption from acting as a vehicle for the transmission of bacterial diseases.
The #100tífiques 2023 event was held with the participation of 573 women researchers. They gave simultaneous talks during the morning to around 40,000 students aged 11 to 13 across 505 Catalan schools. The purpose of the event is to encourage children to pursue scientific and technical careers while fostering a community of shared interests between academics and industry professionals. Nine scientists working at the Germans Trias i Pujol Institute (IGTP) took part in the event.

A series of events to shine a light between the connection between art and science in times of pandemic. Events at the Can Manyé Cultural Centre in Alella and the Germans Trias i Pujol Hospital.
The Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP) has participated in a ground-breaking event to bring art and science together for European Performing Science Night with results that left nobody indifferent. The Fundació Èpica la Fura dels Baus led the project which involved artists and scientists from the IGTP and four international universities.
Next weekend Badalona will be the site of European Performance Science Night 2021, an activity within the framework of the European Researchers' Night, financed by the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA). The Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP) has joined forces with one of the projects within this initiative led by the Épica Foundation La Fura dels Baus (a world-famous Catalan theatre company), with the aim of bringing science to the citizen and motivating young people to take up scientific careers
A total of 23 researchers have taken part in the first event of the European project European Performing Science Night (EPSN) part of European Researcher's Night a European public event that brings scientists and society together. All three research groups on the camps taking part in the project participated in the workshop.
Badalona will be one of the locations to feature in the European Researchers' Night. The research team led by the Èpica Foundation of the Fura dels Baus has been awarded funding for their project European Performing Science Night to hold an event within European initiative with the participation of the IGTP.
The seed-funding round for the IGTP Spin-off Time is Brain has reached its financing objective in record time almost as soon as it opened. The company opened the round on the platform Capital Cell and has not only reached the goal of 640,000, but has passed it and received 800,000, the figure the spin-off had set as a maximum.
