The European Union launches the THRIVE project to improve the prognosis of children and adults with liver cancer
The European Union's project THRIVE held its kick-off meeting on 12 January 2024 in Barcelona. The project is coordinated by Josep M. Llovet (IDIBAPS). IGTP collaborates as a partner through c-LOG, led by Carolina Armengol.
Artificial intelligence as key to predicting the risk of type 2 diabetes
Research teams from BSC-CNS, UPV/EHU and IGTP are working on a project that uses artificial intelligence to predict and prevent type 2 diabetes. This initiative is part of the Complementary Plan for Biotechnology Applied to Health, coordinated by IBEC.

Collaborative study identifies potential targets to treat the most common childhood liver cancer
The research, led by Cima Universidad de Navarra, sheds light on new possibilities for addressing various types of cancer. This work has been carried out in collaboration with Dr Carolina Armengol, leader of IGTP’s Childhood Liver Oncology (C-LOG) group, a pioneer in the study of childhood liver cancer in Spain.
