19 IGTP researchers, recognised in a scientific impact ranking
A total of 19 women researchers affiliated with the Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP) feature in the April 2026 edition of the Ranking of Spanish Women Researchers and Women Researchers in Spain. The ranking aims to increase the visibility of women's contribution to scientific research through bibliometric indicators based on free and open-access sources. It is compiled by Isidro F. Aguillo, head of the Cybermetrics Lab at the Institute for Public Goods and Policies (IPP) - Spanish National Research Council (CSIC).
The ranking includes more than 12,000 women researchers with the highest scientific impact indicators, based on their h-index and citation counts obtained from their Google Scholar and OpenAlex profiles, linked to an ORCID identifier. It includes both Spanish researchers working in Spain or abroad and researchers of other nationalities affiliated with Spanish institutions. The data for this edition were collected in April 2026 and ranked according to the h-index, using citation count as a tie-breaker and considering the highest position achieved across the platforms analysed.
Among the IGTP researchers, Victoria Delgado, head of the Cardiovascular Imaging Department at the Germans Trias i Pujol University Hospital (HUGTiP), president of the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging and scientific director of the Comparative Medicine and Bioimage Centre of Catalonia (CMCiB) -one of the institute's strategic projects- is the highest ranked, placing 30th overall. This result highlights her well-established scientific career and significant research impact.
