The Internal Scientific Advisory Board (ISAB) of the Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP) has reviewed 2025, a year of continuity in the committee's activity, marked by the monitoring of the Institute's strategic lines and active involvement in key governance initiatives.

Throughout the year, the ISAB maintained regular activity with a total of ten meetings, held in a hybrid format. Among these, the April meeting stands out, which took place in a decentralised manner at the Espai Mataró Cuida-CareCityLab facilities, a care and research centre in the sociosanitary field aimed at promoting collaboration and the development of cooperative projects in the Maresme area. At this meeting, different research groups were able to present their projects and receive feedback and guidance from committee members.

Regarding the main lines of work, noteworthy activities included monitoring the IGTP Strategic Plan at the October meeting and participation in prioritisation committees and in the organisation of the Annual Symposium, held as part of the Institute's 30th anniversary. The CCI also progressed in strengthening its relationship with the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona through meetings with members of its governance bodies and with the teaching committee of Hospital Germans Trias. Overall, 18 of the 21 work topics defined at the beginning of the year were addressed, achieving a high level of implementation.

Despite the progress made, some strategic challenges remain pending, such as defining a working group to develop a clinical pathway within the research career. Looking ahead to 2026, the ISAB enters a new stage with the commitment to consolidate the progress achieved and address pending aspects, reinforcing its role as a key space for reflection, planning and continuous improvement of research at the IGTP.

The Scientific Advisory Board forms part of the IGTP's governance structure and acts as an advisory body on scientific and strategic matters, with the aim of strengthening research quality and institutional functioning. It is chaired by the scientific director, Julia García Prado, and brings together professionals from different research and management fields from the institutions that make up the Instituto de Investigación Sanitaria (IIS). This transversal composition enables a broad and shared view of the Institute's challenges.
