IGTP strengthens its presence at BIOSPAIN 2025 as a benchmark in innovation and knowledge transfer

- Conferences, Innovation

The Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP) has taken part in BIOSPAIN 2025, the leading biotechnology event in southern Europe, with the aim of strengthening its knowledge and technology transfer strategy, showcasing its innovation capabilities, and fostering new collaborations with companies, investors, and stakeholders across the biomedical ecosystem.

This year's event brought together more than 2,400 participants and 1,065 organisations from 35 countries, consolidating itself as a key platform for promoting collaboration between research and industry.

IGTP was represented by its Innovation Unit and the Comparative Medicine and Bioimage Centre (CMCiB), as well as by Dr Jorge Mena, researcher from the Genomics and Transcriptomics of Synucleinopathies (GTS) Group, who presented the Lewy-Dx project, focused on developing a diagnostic tool for Lewy body dementia, and by the spin-off Ahead Therapeutics. In addition, Biointaxis participated with its own stand, showcasing the potential of the translational research model driven from the Can Ruti campus.

According to the organisers, BIOSPAIN hosted over 4,500 partnering meetings and 250 exhibitors, consolidating its role as a meeting point for the Spanish and European biotechnology sectors under the motto "Global Crossroads, Local Vibes".

IGTP's participation at BIOSPAIN highlights the maturity of its innovation ecosystem and its ability to generate impact in the biomedical field. The Institute is currently one of the leading research centres in Catalonia in terms of knowledge transfer and spin-off creation, and its presence at BIOSPAIN reinforces its commitment to bridging research and the business and industrial sectors.

Through its participation, IGTP reaffirms its position as a key player in translational research and health innovation, promoting collaboration among researchers, support units and spin-offs, and strengthening its role as a reference centre within the Catalan and European biotechnology ecosystem.
