This is the second year that the WiS Group have monitored the scientific activity on Can Ruti Campus.
The XIX edition of the Translational Research and Digestive Neoplasms Workshop was declared a complete success, both as it was able to be carried out face to face, but also for the level of the participating speakers.
The Second IGTP Retreat took place on 14 and 15 June in a mixed format broadcast from the Badalona International Business Centre (BCIN). Around 50 researchers attended the sessions within the current social distancing rules while close to 200 joined the event online and participated in the lively question sessions. The call to use the research power of academia to improve public health in the keynote speech was continued through the event and the presentations showcased a wide range of examples of success stories.
The second symposium organized by the Can Ruti Working Group Women in Science to celebrate the United Nations International Day of Women and Girls in Science was dedicated to Integrating the Gender Perspective in Biomedical Research. The event took place at the IGTP was full to capacity during the duration of the event.
Last Friday the first update meeting at national level to take a global view of the healthcare situation and present the latest research data for Neurofibromatosis type 2 (NF2) took place at the IGTP. This pioneering event was organized by the members of the National Reference Centre in genetic neuro-cutaneous syndromes (Facomatosis), (CSUR) on the Can Ruti Campus and also included patients and families affected by the disease.
With more than 25 speakers the workshop has been a meeting point for professionals discussing the latest advances in the field of molecular diagnostics of urological tumours, immunotherapy and the emerging lines of research in this branch of oncology.
This year Childhood Liver Oncology group (c-LOG), led by Carolina Armengol at the IGTP had the honour of organizing the 3-day meeting. Participants and members of the organization declared the event an overwhelming success and the best yet.
