Innomed visits IDNEO to learn about its capabilities in device development and digital technologies
The community of the Innomed program, led by the Innovation Unit of the Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP), visited the facilities of IDNEO today, an engineering company specialising in the development of technological solutions, including those in the MedTech sector. The visit provided an opportunity to learn first-hand about the company's technological capabilities and explore potential opportunities for collaboration on healthcare innovation projects.
The visit is part of Innomed's activities to connect research teams with companies and technology centres that can contribute to the development of their projects. It follows previous visits to organisations such as Leitat, Werfen and AstraZeneca, aimed at fostering connections between research teams and industry.
During the visit, participants learned about IDNEO's capabilities in device design and development, software, artificial intelligence, prototyping, validation, industrialisation and manufacturing. The program combined presentations from the participating organisations and discussions of projects of mutual interest with a visit to the company's facilities.
The visit was organised in a small-group format, bringing together research teams working on projects that could benefit from IDNEO's technological capabilities. The aim was to identify opportunities for collaboration to address technological challenges, validate solutions and advance project development.
"The visit reinforces one of Innomed's key areas of work: facilitating direct contact between biomedical research teams and companies that can provide the expertise and technological capabilities needed to develop new healthcare solutions", explains Raül Zurita, director of Innovation at IGTP.
About Innomed
Innomed is a collaborative program that aims to foster a culture of innovation and promote the transfer of projects with an impact on the healthcare system. The initiative brings together a network of seven healthcare and biomedical research centres in the northern metropolitan area of Barcelona, each contributing its expertise and resources: Guttmann Hospital de Neurorehabilitation, Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute, Consorci Sanitari del Maresme, Germans Trias i Pujol University Hospital, Institut Català d'Oncologia, IrsiCaixa and IGTP, which coordinates the program. Innomed is funded by ITEMAS, the platform of Instituto de Salud Carlos III that supports the development and transfer of high-impact projects.
