The new edition of the GrowInn incubator began today with an inaugural session at the Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP), attended by participants from the selected projects and representatives from the innovation units of the different institutions involved: Consorci Sanitari del Maresme, Germans Trias i Pujol University Hospital, Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute, IrsiCaixa, Institut Guttmann, Institut Català d'Oncologia and IGTP itself, leader and coordinator of Innomed.

In this edition, the incubator includes 15 projects that, over the coming months, will work to advance the valorisation and development of their health innovation initiatives. The program contributes to strengthening the Campus Can Ruti as a health innovation ecosystem, fostering collaboration between institutions, researchers and clinical professionals.

The inaugural session marks the start of the third edition

The kick-off session began with a welcome to participants, followed by a participatory spectrum mapping activity facilitated by SDLI. This exercise invited participants to position themselves in response to several statements related to health innovation. Through different blocks focused on personal motivation, approaches to innovation and teamwork, participants were able to share expectations, discuss different perspectives and begin to get to know the profiles and interests of other members of the program. The activity helped encourage interaction among participants, align perspectives and activate collaborative work from the very first day.

After a coffee and networking break, the leaders of the selected projects introduced themselves and offered a brief introduction to their projects, informally sharing their objectives and motivations.

The session also included the presentation of the GrowInn 2026 program, explaining the aims of the initiative, the program structure and the planned training capsules. The program aims to help participants reflect on the main key aspects of the valorisation of innovation projects -such as intellectual property, regulation or market opportunity-, define an action plan and develop the skills needed to present it clearly and convincingly.

The program will culminate in a Demo Day, the Innomed Awards, which will take place on 18 June. At this final event, participants will present their projects to an audience made up of representatives from institutions, companies, investors and members of the Campus Can Ruti community.

The session concluded with a round table featuring two participants from previous editions, Mireia Jordà and Ana Piqueras, who shared their experience of the program and explained how taking part in GrowInn had been useful for them. During the session they also answered questions and doubts from the new participants.
