ECOMASC collects 6,250 euros for COVID-19 research at the IGTP

- Amics de Can Ruti

This year has seen a new challenge for research an we have rapidly refocused our resources to study COVID-19 and the virus that causes it. The support of various organizations has been fundamental so that research can advance and make fighting the coronavirus possible.

ECOMASC (Eco-masks) is an example; after months of working on producing masks and with the support of the community on 9 December the Moda Dstil shops of Catalonia presented a cheque for 6,250 euros to the Germans Trias I Pujol Research Institute (IGTP). ECOMASC has not only helped to prevent the propagation of the virus with its masks, but it has also made a generous gesture so that research can continue to look for solutions to COVID-19.

ECOMASC was one of the first charitable initiatives that we received. Dstil started to develop the sustainable masks in April, made of 100% cotton and made in local workshops. Just like the researchers they redirected their efforts to face the pandemic and decided to donate 25% of their sales to projects related to the coronavirus and being carried out at the IGTP.

We would like to thank the 11 Dstil  shops for working together to fight the virus: Xamfra DSTIL (St. Boi), Cortes DSTIL (Valls), DSTIL Reus (Reus), Serras 1919 (Mataró), Comalat (Banyoles), Fernan's (Salou), Valero Moda (Borges Blanques, Tàrrega i Mollerussa), Públic Moda (Caldes de Montbui) and Iglesias Moda DSTIL (Manresa).

The ECOMASC is available in all these stores or you can contact them by telephone or social media.
