30 years committed to health and research
Since its foundation in 1995, the Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP) has worked to drive discoveries from the laboratory to the clinic. Collaboration, innovation and a constant dedication to improving people's lives have defined its path, positioning the institute as a reference in biomedical research.
Now, as IGTP celebrates its 30th anniversary, we look back at the milestones achieved over the years and, with the same determination, look ahead to continue generating knowledge and translating it into better health for everyone.

The Faculty of Medicine of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona has remained alongside it, while in recent years the Comparative Medicine and Bioimage Centre of Catalonia (CMCiB) -a strategic project from IGTP- and the Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute -affiliated with the Instituto de Investigación Sanitaria IGTP- have been added.
An autumn of remembrance and future
This anniversary is a great opportunity to celebrate the shared history, scientific achievements and strong community at IGTP. As such, we will be celebrating this milestone at the end of the year, during the IGTP Annual Symposium (former Annual Retreat) and the Christmas celebration.
On 5 November, this meeting will showcase some of the ground-breaking research carried out on the campus over the last 30 years and provide a forum for networking and synergies for the IIS IGTP community. More information
On 11 December, the Christmas celebration event will bring together the Institute community to share the festive spirit and mark the end of the year. This special edition will also look back on 30 years of research and achievements.
This page is under development and will include the institute's history, key figures, a special anniversary video and more.
