Mini Biography Professor Benedetta Bussolati

Prof. Benedetta Bussolati obtained her medical degree at the University of Torino (Italy) and her PhD on Physiopathology of the Renal Insufficiency at the University of Parma (Italy). She currently holds the position of. Associate Professor of Laboratory Medicine at the University of Torino and director of a Research group at the Molecular Biotechnology Centre. She acquired a strong background on renal pathophysiology, on angiogenesis and on the mechanisms of renal damage and progression. In addition, she has extensive experience in studies of stem cell biology and regenerative medicine that include characterization of various stem cell types and their potential use for tissue regeneration. Actual interests focus on the role of stem cell-derived extracellular vesicles (EVs) in regenerative medicine as therapeutic tool, to induce cell reprogramming and modulate angiogenesis and renal repair. She is deeply involved in the EV community, being President of the Italian Society of Extracellular Vesicles (EVIta).

Prof. Bussolati has coauthored >170 articles, H-factor: 46.
