Hospital Municipal de Badalona

Badalona Serveis Assistencials SA (BSA) is a health organization whose aims are to provide total health care for all the health needs of their clients. It offers public health services at the primary, specialized, social-health and home-care levels.
BSA has nine centres employing around 1,200 health professionals who provide services to more than 230,000 persons in the Barcelonès Nord and Maresme Counties of Catalonia. BSA is the result of the commitment of Badalona Council to provide quality in health matters and care of dependent persons.

Today, BSA is an integrated health organization which continues to grow and evolve. Proof of this is the increase in services for dependent persons and new initiatives in public health promotion and prevention and the initiation of an integrated service for urgent and emergency cases. BSA’s management philosophy is based on social responsibility and the integration of ethical principles in all business relations.

At present, BSA has twelve research lines in development or in the design stage. These research lines include the Adjusted Clinical Groups (ACGs), a system of classification in Primary Health Care, which is financed by FIS grant PI052837 - BF05-0046. Other lines of research include topics relating to dementia, paediatrics, life-styles, work-related musculoskeletal disorders, cardiovascular risk, olfactometry, heart failure, osteoporosis and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

And all this is made possible by a permanent desire for innovation which has led to more than 60 BSA health professionals participating in these research areas.
