The inauguration in February of 2006 the new building of research laboratories of the IGTP, where are the technology platforms and many of the laboratories and multipurpose case, led to the need to plan structures in which the centralization storage of samples in a unit Cryobiology.
At this point in the unit is functioning properly and has:
- A tank of liquid nitrogen on the outside of the building research labs 2500 kg capacity.
- Three tanks filled automatic, semi-2 (manual activation), 9 tanks of various capacities and manual filling a tank for transporting samples.
- Room freezers with 13 freezers -80 ° C
