What are the Talents Awards?

The Talents Awards are part of the La Pedrera Catalunya Foundation Programme. They are grants post-residence for young medical specialists and health professionals who are considered excellent and outstanding in their field of medicine and who want to carry out a research project with the objective of completing a doctoral thesis while carrying out their clinical duties at the hospital.

The award includes the schedule allowances for senior medical specialists to facilitate their research activities in parallel with their clinical duties.

The Foundation launched the Talents Awards in 2012 to provide continuation for young doctors in residency at the Germans Trias I Pujol Hospital. Both organizations, in collaboration with the Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP) funded the Germans Trias Talents Programme. Since then other hospitals in Catalonia have joined and the Talents Programme has grown.
